The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas, and was doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an opportunity to grow for toilets and bidet seats, in contrast to its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto was documenting Toto words to ensure that the future generations would be able to read them. Many words were substituted with foreign ones. For example, dui, which is Bengali for verandah, was being used.
Origins
Toto's early history, which began in 1917, mirrored Japan's rapid economic expansion. In the first half, Toto made products to meet the growing demand for modern, brand new urban housing. It used the first tunnel kiln in the country that could produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered automation for production control, which helps to increase efficiency and a more consistent production.
The company began expanding internationally in the latter part of the 1980s to benefit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company founded the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other products of other manufacturers in order to enhance its own line of sanitary earthenwares as well as plumbing fittings. This strategy helped to increase sales and expand the company's market share in the world.
In the 1990s, Toto began to concentrate on research and development of water-related appliances. It also redesigned its system of distribution to better serve its customers and boost profits. The company employed the same just-in-time approach to its supply chain management as well as sales program. This resulted in a greater level of customer satisfaction.
Toto has been able to continue to innovate with regard to toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for instance, has a strong tornado flush that is more ecologically friendly than conventional toilets. Toto uses recycled water for its manufacturing process and has a green purchasing policy. Toto also manufactures faucets, bathtubs and hand dryers with greater energy efficiency than conventional models.
The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It features exhibits on Toto's most famous products, their evolution, the group companies (all of which are ceramics) as well as the history of plumbing and products such as bath units. Boz Scaggs' album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich, guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather and drummers Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also played on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name like Asia, you would think that the group would be prog queens and kings but they're actually a fairly straightforward rock group. The band was initially four members and released two albums in 1979, the self-titled debut album and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. Although 토토사이트 have a diverse musical background their biggest breakthrough was achieved in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster, but not without its own set of issues. Record companies placed the band on the spot with the ultimatum "give us an album that is a success or we'll sack you" and the pressure was on them to give it. Luckily for Toto they delivered and they did it with the assistance of the smash single "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is the result of their previous experiences. Before forming the group, members worked as session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their sonic trademark has become the standard of '80s music, influencing many contemporary artists.
The album opens up hard with songs such as Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to create great AOR tunes that slowly get into your head. The album also includes some slow, jazzier tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. And the album ends with Great Expectations, a song which combines folk and distortion AOR and could sound completely wrong, but actually works amazingly well.
After Toto IV The band's fortunes took a turn to the downside. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career and the band had a variety of drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in after he was charged with drug abuse. the band continued as a trio with Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.
Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation however, which was not as successful as IV. The band managed to release an album that was chart-topping, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. The album was the last of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new singer.

Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet style of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, constant effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the development of the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability to play was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's work was more precise, sharper, and less derivative than on previous recordings.
After touring to promote their album, the band recorded their Amsterdam live performance which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. A new studio album was released just a few months later and the group embarked on an extensive world tour in support of it. During this period, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich & Lukather began looking through old tapes and demos to find songs that had never been recorded prior to. The album was released in 2001 and released as a double album called Then and Now. It was the first album in the band's history not to include one single track with the word "A" in its title and it included one previously not released track, "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth record, Old Is New was not a commercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis, which affected his singing abilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes along with the other original members of Asia - Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened an event in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility of officially reforming the band. This lineup, minus Howe (who was busy with Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had a special guest appearance from singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
